Guilty of Being Poor

aw isn't that nice and put in such a dramatic way..every state has way's to help these people, some refuse to so they can thumb their nose at the system.make believe they are fighting bad laws.when what they are really doing is saying the laws don't apply to them.just like on national t.v. when obama won the white house there was a old lady who said she doesn't have to work anymore because obama was going to give her everything.what you are really saying is that everybody can do what they damm well please and there will be no repracusions.what you are working towards is anarchy

As you stated in your piece, these are court ordered payments. They jail you for Contempt of Court; and that is the actual abuse.

In order to be found in contempt of court the plaintiff(prosecuiter) has to show willing and overt refusal to comply with the order and show that the offender has the means.

You waste your energies and talent by fighting these incarcerations as a poverty issue. It is not. It is an abuse of the court system by corrupt judges. If judges were not corrupt; this problem would not exist.

Arresting poor people can´t solve the problem. How should they ever be able to pay their debts, if a) they can´t go to work for the time they spend in jail and
b) they lose their jobs because of the incarceration? If anything could help the government to get its fees and the debitors to be able to pay, it is a tax-policy that strictly depends on the income and a kind of "private insolvency", which promises to be out of depts in 6 years under the condition that every earning over a certain limit is used to satisfy the debitors.

The governments only interest is money, that's why Contempt charges for failure to pay and the resulting WORK RELEASE incarceration (live in the Jail, paying rent).

Please read my other comment above, defines and corrects the problem.
